Grunge with Altered Edge

Grunge is like giving something a dirty look. To make my pictures look like that, I had to use the Ripple filter to stir up the lines. Then, the diffuse filter was used to roughen up the edges. The layer mask was also used to paint over the main object to expose the image a little more. The colors were changed around a bit by using the channel mixer. The whites, blacks, and neutrals were changed. After changing the three images to grunge, an altered edge was placed on all three pictures.

Scary, Spooky, Seasonal

The pictures I took were a mix of Scary and seasonal. I took some at Carter's Mountain with my family, and i took some on Halloween, and some were even taken at my house. I took pictures of some beautiful outdoor things that had a pretty color.

Kaleidoscope

An image with a line going across 2 out of the 4 sides of the image had to be used here. For the kaleidoscope effect, i used the rectangular marquee tool to select the parts of the picture that I wanted to copy. These pieces of the picture had to be rotated. All of these pieces of the picture were flipped vertically ad horizontally. In the end, all of the pieces were put together and the image looked like a kaleidoscope! For the painted kaleidoscope all of these same steps were preformed, except instead of already having an image, we had to paint one.

Chnage My Look

This next project was about changing the hair and eye color of yourself, a partner, and a celebrity. There also needed to be a background, and one extra image. The color replacement tool was used for changing the hair color. The polygonal lasso tool was used for changing the eye color.

Crazy Combos

This project was fun to do.It was really creative.I took a picture of an ostrich from the internet, and added in human like things, such as lips, and a necklace. I used the cloning tool so that i could give the ostrich a third eye. I also used the quick selections tool. It outlined just the necklace so that I could paste it on to the ostrich's neck.

Postcard

I made a postcard of my last amazing adventure of the summer. I went to Morehead city, North Carolina. For this project, I used the masking tool. It helped blend in the pictures that were over the background.

Introduction

My name is Heather and I'm posting for the first time for my Digital Imaging class, where we use Photoshop CS4. These are a few pictures I took at Carter's Mountain Orchard. I really enjoy taking digital photographs, especially of scenic things.
