Aperture-Depth of Field

Aperture means "an opening". Depth of field is the region of a photo that is focused when the image is captured. If the depth of field is short, with an aperture of 3.5 to about 7. The image won't be in entire focus. With a long depth of field, having an aperture of about 11-25, the image is more focused.

Warm Colors

Warms colors are any color within the range of reds, yellows, and oranges. All of these images were edited in Camera Raw. For a few of them, I used the adjustment brush tool to bring out the reds. For the one black and white picture, I opened it in Photoshop and painted back in the warm colors.

Dear Photograph

I really liked this project. I had some old photos, and went to the exact spot that they were taken, and took another photo. Then, I wrote a small letter. I added a drop shadow to both of these images, so that they wouldn't look so flat.

Found Objects

The found objects were supposed to be things that you might not always notice. My found objects were random things in a backyard, such as toy shovels, and I also found a can. For all these images but one, I did a color splash, so that the viewers eye would go straight to the object. Before I did anything in Photoshop, I edited all of the pictures in camera raw. I increased the contrast and clarity in all of them. I used the dodge tool for one of the images.

Five Edited Images

This is one of my favorite images. I made it black and white in Photoshop, and then edited it in Bridge. I increased the fill light so that the image wouldn't appear so dark.

I increased the contrast and clarity in this picture. I also increased the blacks.

To give this picture a more crispy look, I increased the blacks and the brightness.

I didn't do much to this image. I increased the contrast so that the flowers would appear more clear.

For this image, I used the tone curve to increase the dark. I also increased the blacks to make the image more crisp. I increased the contrast and clarity as well, to make the details on the cake more evident.

Panoramic

A panoramic is combining multiple images into one image. You can shoot a 180 or 360 degree panorama. Mine was a 360 degree shot. To combine about 20 images together, I used photomerge, a program in photoshop. Then, I cloned some of the grass to make the whole image look the same, and to make the lines go the same direction. I also had to adjust the exposure, so that the whole panoramic looked the same. I used the dodging tool to make pieces of the image lighter, and blend in with the the rest.

Vinatge Picture

For this image, I added a warming filter, then added a Gaussian blur, and added noise, which gave the picture a grainy effect. I selected around the man with the rectangular marquee tool, and set the feather radius to 40 pixels, clicked inverse , then filled the selection with black. I then lowered the opacity to give it the dodged look.

CD Jacket

I took a picture of myself, and used it as the front cover. On the back cover, I arranged three of my many assignments. My Spring Break Scrapbook assignment, splash of color, and words and brushes assignments. These images are not on the CD, but I wanted them to be seen as well. I also added some text, for a title.

Birth of Venus

The Birth of Venus painting, was painted during the Italian Renaissance, by Botticelli. I learned several new techniques during this project. One being the actions. The actions were used to create the meshes. I had never used the action tool in photoshop before. I also learned how to use the variations. They gave the image a cool look by differing the look of parts of the image.

Words and Brushes

For this assignment, I downloaded some city brushes and some paint splatter brushed from, www.myphotoshopbrushes.com/brushes. For the first picture, I flipped one of the brushes, so that it looked like a reflection. I used the words "la f oi", which mean "faith" in French. For the second assignment, I used the word ambition, and put the brushes at different angles.

Doodle 4 Google

My doodle 4 Google theme, was Greece. I used an image that I took myself and placed it under the Google text. I also used the quick selection tool and cut out a blue dome, and a map of Greece. I placed the map of Greece inside the lowercase g.

HDR Photography

HDR means High Dynamic Range. I created my image by bracketing in camera raw. I focused on certain pieces of the image while editing. Then, I combined the edited images. I uploaded them to photoshop, and used a layer mask to remove the edits I did not want for each layer.

Painting with light

This image is taken with a long exposure on the camera. The camera has to be set on TV mode. It's necessary to be in a dark place. Once the camera is set up, with the shutter open, you use a flashlight to "paint" whatever you want.

A watermark has several purposes. It can be used as a logo, copyright, or simply for satisfaction. It is supposed to remind people who the image belongs to.

Spring Break Documentary

I went to Greece for spring break, and i took the map of Athens, and used it as my background/ scrapbook paper. I put a few pictures that were highlights of the trip on it as well.

Splash of Color

The only tool used for this image was a layer mask. I painted the color back in. i chose to paint in the man, because he is the subject of the image.

Photoshop Animation

I made my animation in photoshop. I used text, and then just painted my background.

Downtown Mall Advertisement

I advertised Cappelino's Crazy Cakes, a cake, cupcake, and cookie shop. the colors I used are the same ones used for the shop. The fonts are very close to the fonts used.

Choice Project

I learned how to paint color back in, after the image has been converted to black and white. I really like that concept.

Jerry Uelsmann

This is my Jerry Uelsmann photo that I created.

Jerry Uelsmann has a large collection of negatives. He combines negatives to create new images. He only uses negatives from pictures he shoots himself, and composes the new images in a darkroom. This is Jerry Ulesmann's photo that i replicated.

Picture Worth 1000 Words

This was a really neat project. The person's face was replaced with text. I created 4 of my own brushes. I selected the shadows and midtones, added and painted my text, and added a gradient overlay to get the color.

Claymation

My group and I took 194 different pictures for this project. Every move we wanted our clay object to make, we had to take a picture. This project was interesting. After all of the pictures were taken, and edited in camera raw, we put them into Windows Movie Maker.

Experiment With Line

I like to shoot leading line photos. Here are some examples:

Here is my leading lines picture. I cut pieces of the picture to make it look like it was coming outward.
